It’s a myth that if you want to be fit, you should join the gym. Let us take a pause and think about fitness. What does fitness exactly mean?

 

Fitness is the condition of being physically as well as mentally fit and healthy. One should make fitness a lifestyle. It is not a temporary thing. Fitness is not only about exercising with weights by going to the gym. Exercising improves brain stimulation which helps you feel better and energetic from within to tackle all your daily physical and mental difficulties.

 

Fitness is not always about a gym. If you are not enjoying slogging it out on a treadmill, don’t force yourself. One can practice any form of exercise right from the yoga to Aerobics, Dancing (Zumba), Swimming, playing any sports. Always keep trying new forms of exercise until you fine with the one you actively enjoy. And that's why it will become a part of your life and not something you resent doing.

 

Your exercise plus health food habit sums up your fitness. Having well-balanced diet with exercise can help you in long term. Adopting healthy food choices for keeping our body fuelled for our daily activities. Don't make your diet plan boring. It's a simple hack. Substitute the junk food with healthy food. For example, have smoothie or milkshake instead of cold drinks. Healthy food nourishes our body and helps in improving our exercise performance. Having 5-6 meals per day worth 3-5 workout sessions per week which are essentials for a human body. It reduces the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases keep us active and fit. So, it’s not only about exercise but your mental health too.

 

Let’s turn your focus on something more important. As you grow, your body does not support your enthusiasm towards work or any other activity. So as a precautionary measure one should make fitness a habit. When you are young that is in your 30s, you are active enough plus your body takes less time to recover from any kind of pain or disorder. Once you cross your 40s or I can say young adult age group, your body takes a longer time to recover. Let us take an example of an IT Professional or a clerk who has a sitting job. Due to long continuous hours of acquired posture, one starts getting neck or back pain, clinically spondylitis changes. In young age, body helps you to get recovered from these pains on a faster basis

 

So, to conclude, adopt a fitness as your lifestyle and lead an active life.
