John Bogle was born to William Yates Bogle Jr. and Josephine Lorraine Hipkins in Verona, New Jersey on May 8, 1929. He is retired CEO and the founder of the Vanguard Group. He released the bestselling book Common Sense on Mutual Fund: New Imperative for the Intelligent Investor in 1999.
He attended Manasquan high school in New Jersey on a Scholarship. He got admission in the reputed Blair Academy just because of his excellent academic record. He completed his graduation in 1947 and got admission in Princeton University, where he studied economics and investment. He completed his graduation in 1951.
After completing graduation from Princeton in 1951, John Bogle chose Banking and Investment as a career option. He started working at Wellington fund and later became a fund manager.
